Lab Assistant

• Provide direct hands-on help to the lead production scientist during intensive steps.
• Identify, locate, and retrieve chemicals, sub-assemblies, or supplies for production scientists. Purchase supplies as needed.
• Provide production step verification and initialing.
• Complete routine in-process assays, including SDS-PAGE gels and protein assays as needed.
• Complete clean-in-place procedures for production equipment, including homogenizers, centrifuges, and chromatography columns.

• Maintain general production lab 6S tidiness and identify organizational improvements.
• Complete daily routine maintenance of lab instruments (e.g. change AKTA pump rinsing solutions) and address autonomous maintenance problems observed during normal operations.
• Maintain Kanban of production supplies, including assay reagents, spray bottles, etc.
• Empty and clean waste tip and glass containers.
• Verify that equipment is powered down when not in use.
• Maintain support equipment, including gel electrophoresis units, water baths, etc.
