Madison. Pack and Deliver Donated Magazines Literacy

Mag Literacy.org gets new and recycled magazines to at-risk children and families who want to learn and love to read. Our primary focus areas are mentoring and job training, readers in homeless and domestic violence shelters, hungry families receiving groceries from food pantries, and foster kids. Too many people can't read - a cereal box, a job description, or this web page.

Illiterate adults were once children who missed their chance to learn to read. A child who cannot read is unable to do well in any school subject. We help feed kids, teens, and adults hungry to read and succeed. Join with us to change the world - one reader at a time! Volunteer today! Thank you.

Help us improve literacy for underserved children and adults in Madison and beyond. Mag Literacy Wisconisn distributes 50,000 donated magazines annually to child care centers, schools, food pantries, Little Free Library boxes, and other community organizations. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities with the following tasks:

• packing magazines for delivery
• receiving, sorting, and shelving magazines
• delivering magazines to Little Free Library boxes
• distributing magazines at The River Food Pantry
• accompanying The River Food Pantry's Munch Van to hand out magazines along with free meals in low-income neighborhoods

Requires a minimum commitment of two hours a month, schedule is flexible. Many opportunities are available at our downtown Madison office. Contact wisconsin.
