Ameri Corps Construction Crew Leader

Serve with Ameri Corps at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County to build sustainable solutions in the community while gaining valuable hands-on construction and leadership experience. As an Ameri Corps Construction Crew Leader, you'll play an integral part in building and repairing homes by leading groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.

This is a full-time, 10.5-month national service role, ideal for someone exploring a career in construction, leadership, people management, or community impact.

You'll gain hands-on experience in construction and volunteer management while receiving professional development support, a housing allowance, and an education award. If you're passionate about housing justice, eager to learn, and motivated to make a measurable difference, this Ameri Corps role offers both impact and career-building experience.

Time Commitment
  • Service for 10.5 months
  • 40 hours per week, in-person
  • Tuesday-Saturday schedule, 7:30am-4pm each day
Compensation & Benefits
  • Living allowance of $20,400 paid over approximately 10 ½ months of service
  • $500/month housing allowance paid directly to a landlord or mortgage holder
  • Education Award of $7,395 upon successful completion of service
  • Health coverage during service and enrollment in an Employee Assistance Program

Training & Support
