Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse organizes the provision of nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their preparation and job descriptions. The Registered Nurse contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the Madison Hospital, and meets the requirements of the federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies.
Provides care to patients of all ages, as noted in the age-related categories section. Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers and others.

Duties/Responsibilities- Put your nursing skills to work!
- Assesses needs of assigned patients, identifying problems in relation to the pathophysiology of disease process and standards of care.
- Develops documents and updates nursing plan of care involving patient/family and members of the healthcare team
- Responsible for communication and documentation within assigned areas
- Identifies personal and professional areas for improvement and actively seeks out way to meet development needs.
- Represents MHS in a positive manner when engaging in work-related activities of community organizations.
- Completes all required competencies and mandatory education within established time frames.
- Ensures proper utilization of human and material resources in accordance with the strategic plan, mission and values of MHS.
- Develops and maintains a healthy, supportive work environment, demonstrating behaviors consistent with service excellence.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
- Current and unrestricted MN Registered Nurse license.
- Experience is preferred but not required. New grads are encouraged to apply!
- Knowledge of current principles and techniques of nursing practice
- Ability to function as a team leader, to accept individual responsibility and accountability for decisions and outcomes
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, personnel and physicians
- Recognizes the legal limits of nursing practice
- Maintains professional competency through continuing education and independent study
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public. Ability to manage time effectively.
