Work Schedule

80% FTE, day/evening shift. Operational hours of the Cath Lab/EP lab are 6:00am to 7:00pm. On‑call responsibilities for off hours include weekends and holidays with a 30‑minute response time. Hours may vary depending on department need. You will primarily work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join a high‑performing, multidisciplinary team delivering exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterizations in UW Health’s nationally recognized Cardiac Catheterization Lab at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Responsibilities
  • Be an integral member of a high‑performing, multidisciplinary team delivering exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterizations.
  • Practice in a patient‑ and family‑centered environment within a program rated high‑performing in cardiology by U.S. News & World Report, utilizing advanced technology and minimally invasive techniques to support structural heart interventions, advanced interventional procedures, and heart transplant services.
  • Develop and integrate new skills while incorporating evidence‑based nursing practice into unit culture, working alongside expert physicians, fellows, and researchers in a dynamic academic medical center.
  • Participate in shared governance through a unit‑based council, contributing to quality improvement initiatives and leading practice change.
  • Bring 3+ years of inpatient ICU‑level nursing experience or prior cardiac cath lab nursing experience (preferred) to support high‑acuity, innovative cardiovascular care.
Pay

Qualifications
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Work Experience
  • Inpatient units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Venous Access Team (VAT), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory:
    Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required.
  • Relevant RN experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact. Upon Hire Required.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification. Upon Hire Required.
  • ACLS within 6 months. Required.
  • Relevant certification preferred.
