University Health Services is hiring an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a primary care-focused role providing care to UW‑Madison students in a collaborative, team‑based setting. This 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week) position supports our mission to promote, protect, and improve student health and well‑being.
Key Job Responsibilities- Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well‑being of patients and those around them
- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats illnesses, and manages chronic health problems
- May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students
- Develops, implements, collects data, and evaluates primary health care services as directed by individual care plans
- Develops individualized care plans based on medical assessments in accordance with medical best practices and established rules and regulations
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a nurse practitioner
- Experience providing clinical assessment and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Urgent Care settings
- Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult‑Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date
- Current Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification
- Experience working with college students or young adults, with sensitivity to a diverse student population
- Experience in evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries
- Experience performing in‑office procedures (e.g., cryotherapy, incision and drainage, ingrown toenail removal, laceration repair) or willingness to learn
- Experience providing gender‑affirming care
Masters degree in Nursing
CompensationThe starting salary is $95,824.00 and is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
