100% FTE, 10-12 hour day shifts rotating with team, Monday through Friday. Future weekend rotation required.
As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.
Responsibilities- Provide care to pediatric clinical and research neurosurgery patients at the American Family Children’s Hospital.
- Work in collaboration with faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff to provide ongoing patient care and management.
- Perform inpatient rounding and discharge planning for pediatric neurosurgery patients; occasional assistance with outpatient telephone follow‑up, patient support, and prior authorization duties may be required.
- Participate in UW Health’s Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Advisory Council, ensuring your voices are heard and providing expertise and counsel on APP roles across the organization.
- Engage in routine employee recognition and appreciation activities throughout the year.
- Contribute to a unique APP leadership structure where all APPs report to the Department of Advanced Practice, led by advanced practice providers who advocate for APPs among UW Health administrators.
- Minimum – If Nurse Practitioner:
Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program. - Minimum – If Physician Assistant:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA Program.
Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure.
Additional Qualifications- Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND active board certification as an NP in the area of clinical practice (e.g., Pediatric Acute Care).
- Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND active PA board certification.
- Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
- Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice (including Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice).
