Description:
Must have experience in inpatient rehabilitation or Med Surg. A majority of patient cases are referred from trauma centers. This facility is a 50-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility. The facility offers specialized programs for individuals who have experienced strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions that require inpatient rehabilitative services. The goal is to help patients achieve their highest level of recovery, with an aim of returning home as soon as possible.
The facility strives to maximize health, function, and quality of life through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs. It is accredited by The Joint Commission and recognized for its Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program and Stroke Specialty Program. Nurses are required to assist nursing assistants and respond to call lights for patient safety, especially in high-acuity situations. All agency staff must adhere to the internal attendance and tardy policy.
30-minute breaks are mandatory unless otherwise approved. Staff must clock out for 30 minutes during each shift. Staff are allotted two 15-minute paid breaks during a 12-hour shift. Staff are not permitted to stay past their scheduled shift end time without approval. Patient ratios are typically 1:7. Equipment used includes mobility equipment, vital machines, EKG machines, and computers for charting.
The electronic health record system used is Epic. The patient population consists of adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation services with high acuity needs. This position is a contractor replacement.
