Position: Registered Nurse (RN) | HomeCare (57958)

Position: Home Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Madison, WI 53713

Job Type: Part Time

Pay: $50.00–$60.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer specialty infusion medications and IV antibiotic therapies in patients' homes.
  • Perform vascular access procedures, including peripheral IV insertion.
  • Access and manage implanted ports, PICC lines, and other central venous catheters.
  • Monitor patients during infusions and assess for adverse reactions or complications.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on medication administration, infusion therapy, and catheter care.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
Additional Home Health Responsibilities
  • Provide home-based care to patients with illnesses, injuries and chronic diseases—often after discharge from a hospital, rehab or nursing facility.
  • Examine patients, perform assessments, document progress and report changes to physician.
  • Educate patients on their plan of care, prescribed medication, therapy, diet and exercise.
  • Coach family members on the patient’s plan of care, medication and home safety.
  • Ensure goals are met and coordinate discharge from services.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Previous IV infusion experience required.
  • Proficiency with peripheral IV starts, port access, and central line management.
  • Home infusion, home health, oncology, critical care, or specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patient homes within the assigned territory.
