Description:
The traveler will work in both acute medical and intermediate care units. Evening and night shifts are required, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The schedule is Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays. Experience in telemetry oncology and cardiac care is mandatory. Candidates must have managed care for ventilated patients and those post-transplant. BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
The traveler will have to pass a telemetry test before starting. Nurses will provide care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability. Specialty populations include those with cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension. The unit calls for critical thinking and teamwork as integral components. Nurses must be proficient in advanced nursing skills related to immediate medical care and telemetry management.
The travel nurse will be expected to adapt to various patient care settings as necessary. Participation in a collaborative environment with a multidisciplinary team is mandatory. Experience in an academic Level I or II trauma center or equivalent is essential. Candidates must have a strong background in telemetry and acute care. Immediate patient care and monitoring will be required for various critical conditions.
