Job TitleRegistered Nurse – NICU
LocationMadison, WI
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day and Night shifts available (3x12-hour shifts); 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM | Monday through Friday with 2–3 required weekends per 6-week scheduling period
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neonatal patients in a Level III/IV NICU setting
- Manage post-operative patients, including care involving g-tubes and trach/vent management
- Operate and monitor various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient census requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver specialized pediatric and neonatal care
- Active RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of total NICU Level III/IV experience (combination of Level III and Level IV may be used to meet the 2-year total)
- Minimum of 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience required
- At least 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in the submitted specialty
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- NRP certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Must pass a telemetry/cardiac rhythm interpretation exam prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam)
- Experience with a broad range of invasive and noninvasive ventilation modes in a neonatal population
- Familiarity with post-operative neonatal and pediatric patient care protocols
- Experience working in a high-acuity, comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center environment
