Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Madison, WI

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30 | Weekend and holiday rotation required

• Provide emergency nursing care to both adult and pediatric patient populations in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting
• Perform telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation, including identification of lethal and complex rhythms
• Float to other units as needed based on departmental staffing requirements
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic health records

• Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Minimum two (2) years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three (3) years
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• TNCC certification required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
• Must pass a Telemetry competency exam (adult and pediatric) prior to start; passing criteria include 100% identification of lethal rhythms and a minimum score of 80% on both exams

• Experience in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
• Familiarity with high-volume, high-acuity trauma and referral center workflows
