American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong experience in neuro, ortho, transplant, trauma, and vascular surgeries.
Details- Work in the Operating Room department of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Circulate independently on off shift
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Uses Epic charting system
- Day/Evening shift, 12-hour shifts from 0700 to 1900
- Scheduled every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- No call requirements
- Floating required as needed
- Cases include vascular, cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedic, neurology, urology, robotics, ophthalmology, transplant, thoracic, and ENT procedures
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the OR specialty
- Strong experience required in neuro, ortho, transplant (kidney/liver), trauma, and vascular procedures
- Epic charting system experience required
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- First-time travelers considered with a minimum of five years of experience in a Level 1 trauma facility
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start
- Perform circulating RN duties independently during off-shift OR cases
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher passing score on both adult and pediatric exams
- Up to three attempts allowed for telemetry exam, with a cardiac interpretation review course certificate required after a second failed attempt
- Assignment will be cancelled if telemetry exam is not passed after three attempts
- First-time travelers with at least five years of Level 1 trauma facility experience will be considered
