American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring Level III/IV NICU experience and Epic proficiency at a designated Level IV NICU and Level One Pediatric Trauma Center.
Details- Work in the NICU of a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center
- Level IV NICU caring for neonates across a range of gestational ages including those under 24-28 weeks
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
- Day shift (7:00am-7:30pm) or Night shift (7:00pm-7:30am), 3x12-hour shifts
- Monday through Friday scheduling with 2-3 weekends required per 6-week scheduling period
- Floating required as needed
- Care involves post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Active WI RN license or compact license required
- BLS and NRP certification required (AHA only)
- PALS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years total NICU III/IV experience, including at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred, with at least one Level IV NICU travel assignment preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, UAC/UVC management, neonatal dosage calculations, and ventilator management required
- Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria on adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Magnet-designated pediatric hospital
- Facility is home to a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU serving patients throughout Wisconsin and beyond
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers with Level IV NICU experience will be considered
- Telemetry exam allows two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires submission of a cardiac interpretation review course completion certificate
