Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC (Intermediate Care) position requiring telemetry, oncology, cardiac, vent, and transplant experience along with a WI or compact RN license.

Details
  • Work across two IMC units:
    Acute Med/Progressive Care (D6/5) and Thoracic (B4/3)
  • 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00pm-7:30am
  • Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend required
  • Some holiday coverage required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • On-unit telemetry monitoring for cardiac, oncology, and thoracic patient populations
Requirements
  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
  • Ventilator and transplant experience required
  • Trauma Level II hospital experience required;
    Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
  • Competency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
  • Experience with vasoactive drip titration, heparin protocols, and IV insulin/insulin drip titration
  • Pre/post cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, and hemodialysis management experience
Additional Information
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start, including 100% accuracy on identifying lethal rhythms (V-fib, V-tach, asystole) and no more than one incorrect answer on 3rd degree heart block questions, with an overall passing score of 80% or higher on both adult and pediatric exams
  • Up to two attempts allowed to pass the telemetry exam; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
  • Assignment may be cancelled if telemetry exam is not passed after three attempts
  • Work at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and referral center
  • Responsibilities include would care, wound vac management, and surgical drain care
  • Skilled care for isolation precautions and PPE compliance required
