Explore Madison, WIMadison, WI combines the pace of a state capital with the reach of an academic medical center on the Wisconsin isthmus. UW Health University Hospital helps anchor regional hospital care, and within its critical-care and medical-surgical units, travel coverage helps manage patients arriving from across southern Wisconsin. Sun Prairie, Middleton, and Fitchburg make practical housing with short drives into the city's campuses.
After hours, many nurses kayak on Lake Mendota or wander the Capitol Square district and its farmers' market. The isthmus layout keeps daily logistics tight, with the lakes and the Square close to most routines and the campuses only a short hop apart for travelers cycling through southern Wisconsin.
