American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position specializing in urology, gynecology/oncology, and kidney/pancreas transplant surgeries with robotic surgery experience required.
Details- Work in the Operating Room department of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Specializes in Tier 5 GU/GYN/Transplant cases including kidney, pancreas procurement, and transplant surgeries
- Performs procedures including kidney transplant, hysterectomy, nephrectomy, HOLEP, cystectomy, ureteroscopy, laparoscopic gynecology, anterior/posterior repair, and abdominal hysterectomy
- Uses Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system for urologic and gynecologic robotic procedures
- Maintains 1:1 patient ratio
- Requires Epic charting system experience
- Day/evening shift schedule with 12-hour shifts ) three times weekly, with potential for one biweekly shift
- Weekend rotation required
- Weekday call requirement
- Floating required as needed
- Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Experience required in Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, kidney transplant, pancreas transplant, and robotic surgery
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification
- Perform circulating and scrub duties for complex GU/GYN/transplant surgical cases
- Work within a trauma center and transplant surgical environment
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Skills should include administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol time-out procedures, urinary bladder catheterization, emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia management
- Familiarity with gynecologic and urologic robotic surgery procedures required
