American Traveler is hiring an RN for an IMC/Telemetry position requiring WI or compact RN license, telemetry oncology/cardiac experience, and vent/transplant experience
Details- Work in a hospital setting across two IMC units: D6/5 Acute Med/Progressive Care and B4/3 Thoracic
- Patient population includes telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and stepdown/PCU/DOU level acuity
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm-7:30am, Monday through Friday
- Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
- Floating required as needed across units
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred
- Trauma Level II experience required;
Trauma Level I experience preferred - Ventilator and transplant patient care experience required
- Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria
- Skills required include IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, vasoactive drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and insulin drip titration
- Provide direct patient care in a Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital ranked as the state's #1 hospital
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Additional clinical duties may include wound care, feeding tube management, pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- All references must be removed prior to consideration
- Traveler must have two attempts to pass the required telemetry exam; a third attempt requires proof of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
- First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
