DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric PACU position requiring at least 2 years of pediatric PACU experience and a WI or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Pediatric PACU of a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center at a Magnet-designated children's hospital
- Care for pediatric surgical and post-anesthesia patients across a wide range of specialties including neuro/spine, ortho, ENT, urology, and general surgery
- Uses Epic charting system
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am or 11:00pm-7:30am with flexibility
- Schedule may include Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday rotations
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required as needed
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric PACU experience required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required
- Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Must pass telemetry exam prior to starting assignment with strict passing criteria on adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
- Provide post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures including neuro, ortho, ENT, and general surgery cases
- Perform respiratory and airway management including end-tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, and care of ventilated patients
- Manage IV therapy, central and PICC lines, and blood product administration
- Support patients through pain assessment and management, including PCA pump management
- Monitor for and manage malignant hyperthermia and dysrhythmia protocols
- Local candidates are not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Previous travel experience with a similar specialty is required
- Parking permit required if parking onsite, though alternative transportation options are available
