Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry/IMC RN with cardiac, oncology, ventilator, and transplant experience for a Level II Trauma teaching hospital.

Details
  • Work across two IMC units: D6/5 Acute Med/Progressive Care and B4/3 Thoracic
  • Care for telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/Stepdown patient populations
  • Day/evening shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm
  • Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend required
  • Some holiday coverage required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Utilizes Epic EMR
Requirements
  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
  • Ventilator and transplant patient care experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required;
    Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line management including arterial, central, PICC, and peripheral lines
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience managing cardiac drips, heparin protocols, PCA, and vasoactive drip titration
  • Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Experience with pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care, including TR Band use
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, and PPE use
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
  • Pre/post hemodialysis management and surgical drain care experience
Additional Information
  • Must pass a facility-required telemetry exam prior to starting, including strict lethal rhythm and heart block identification criteria
  • Up to two exam attempts allowed; a cardiac interpretation review course certificate is required before a third attempt
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Located at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital ranked as the top hospital in Wisconsin
  • Parking permit required if parking onsite, though public transportation and other options are available
