American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring prior ICU experience with craniotomy and EVD management, and current Epic proficiency.
Details- Neuro ICU setting caring for ICU and IMC patient populations
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts from
- Also accepts 4x12 schedules or Fri-Sun block schedules
- Every other weekend rotation with some holidays required
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active WI or compact RN license
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in specialty being submitted for
- Prior ICU experience required, neurosurgery experience preferred
- Must have hands-on experience with craniotomy and EVD (external ventricular drain) management
- Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment
- Provide critical care nursing to neuro ICU and surgical ICU patients including post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care
- Manage complex neurological conditions including CVA/acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
- Skilled care includes ventilator management, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun and ICP monitoring preferred
- Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as the top hospital in Wisconsin
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Holiday coverage required for select holidays
- Telemetry exam requires two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate
