RN - Correctional Health

Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

Experience: 2 years of inpatient RN med/surg/tele experience required

License: RN license required

Certifications: BLS required - AHA ONLY

Must-Have: Epic experience required. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.

Description:

D/N rotators will not be scheduled to flip between days/nights more than 2 times in a 6-week scheduling period, unless an exception is made at the employee's request.

Employees will be scheduled for 36 hours off between the end of a scheduled night shift and the beginning of a scheduled day shift if the day shift is for patient care.

Exceptions to the 2 flips in a 6-week scheduling period and/or the hours off between scheduled flips may be made at the employee's request.
18-bed Family Practice and 10-bed Forensic unit that provides care to patients suffering from complex acute illnesses and chronic conditions.

Nurses on this unit go through specific training to care for the forensic patient population.

We require RN med/surg/tele experience, with forensic experience preferred.

Day/Night, 12-hour shifts with every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed.

The unit includes a locked wing with double doors for specific patients.

Staff are always accompanied by an officer while assisting these patients.

Adult med/surg patients with a variety of conditions and diagnoses under the Family Medicine service.

Geriatric population included.

Patient care includes accessing/managing ports, central line blood draws, feeding tube care and management, insulin administration, interpretation of dysrhythms, and wound care.

Previous law enforcement patient care experience is preferred.

Travelers are required to float as needed.

Minimum experience:

Inpatient RN travelers must have two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to.

Pass/Fail testing is required with strict passing criteria.

A telemetry exam will be required prior to start.

Adult exam must identify lethal rhythms, with no incorrect answers regarding 3rd-degree heart blocks.

A passing score of 80% or higher is required.

Attempts:
Traveler will have two attempts to pass.
