Safety And Compliance Coordinator
Bruker AXS (Advanced X-Ray and Spark Optical Emmision Spectroscopy) in Madison, WI is looking for a Safety and Compliance Coordinator to ensure compliance with all company directed safety policies. Effective communication and cross-functional teamwork are required. This position is also responsible for managing our contracted maintenance provider requiring frequent discussions concerning building repairs and projects
ResponsibilitiesPerform all Health and Safety functions, training and enforcement. Make sure we are up to date with customers' safety plat-forms, so we are able to visit customers sites.
In-house Radiation Officer
- The RSO also manages and maintains personal employee safety equipment. Monitoring equipment such as Monitor 4's and dosimetry badges. The RSO makes sure that all equipment is certified and calibrated at safe intervals.
- Regulatory Compliance:
Ensuring all activities involving radioactive materials and radiation producing equipment adhere to national and international standards and regulations. - Radiation Protection Programs:
Developing, implementing, and maintaining programs to minimize radiation exposure to workers and the environment - Training and education:
Provide training and education to employees on radiation safety principles, practices, and regulatory requirements. - Monitoring and surveillance: monitor activities to ensure radiation levels in work areas remain within the safe limit.
- Emergency Procedures:
Develop and enforce radiation safety protocols and emergency procedures. - Safety Audits:
Conduct routine safety audits to identify and correct safety issues. - Compliance with regulations:
Staying updated with changing regulations and implementing new guidelines to maintain safety and avoid penalties.
Perform 2 fire and 1 tornado drills per year.
Help with customer/supplier surveys
Oversee all functions associated with building operations.
- Updating/Maintaining Preventive Maintenance Orders
- Deal with daily building maintenance issues.
Work closely with the third-party maintenance provider.
Ability to review, understand and approve service provider invoices.
Maintain ISO 9001 documentation database.
Qualifications• At least 1 year experience and an associate degree in business preferred
• Effective time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines while multitasking.
• Ability to work as both a sole contributor and as a team member.
• Ability to execute tasks with a high level of accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated basic mathematical skills.
• Microsoft proficiency
• Understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental standards.
