Job Summary:

Join the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) and serve as an Outreach Specialist for the Wisconsin Cancer Collaborative (WCC). The WCC is the state’s comprehensive cancer control program and statewide coalition of organizations working together to reduce the burden of cancer for everyone in Wisconsin. The WCC brings together statewide partners that address the entire continuum of cancer control in Wisconsin including prevention, screening, treatment, and survivorship and priority cross-cutting issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of the Wisconsin Cancer Plan  by engaging coalition members and partners to implement evidence-based interventions (EBIs) and policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes.
  • Serve as a content expert in identifying and implementing EBIs and PSE changes with partners across the cancer care continuum.
  • Emphasis on collaborations with health systems and community organizations.
  • Work effectively with internal team members and external partners including clinicians, public health professionals, cancer advocates, non-profit leaders, among others.
  • Coordinate WCC events, including annual conference, with related logistics as needed.
  • Inform WCC members of the emerging trends in cancer control through presentations, webinars, fact sheets, and other communication materials.
  • Stay informed of changing research, trends, and evidence regarding cancer control.
  • Provide reliable and timely assistance with WCC member-related requests.
  • Represent the WCC at local and state cancer related conferences, trainings, and meetings.
  • Foster a positive and organization climate and culture.

Information

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Travel Required - Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage. Employment is conditional pending the results of a Pre-hire Driver Authorization Check.
