Compensation: $19.00 / hour
DescriptionResponsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of CMM programs for inspection of both First Article and production components using Calypso software. Provides technical guidance to quality technicians for visual and mechanical inspection of castings, machined and molded parts.
Key Responsibilities- Operate coordinate measuring equipment to make complex, precise measurements of materials.
- Read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints and layouts for product specifications.
- Create detailed reports from measurement results for distribution to engineering.
- Interpret inspection results, compare them to established specifications and/or control limits, complete necessary technical reports, and make recommendations for product release or corrective action.
- Liaise with engineering and other production staff to troubleshoot, research and solve technical problems.
- Conduct analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, part samples, finished goods, or process samples.
- Identify and select gaging appropriate to part features and available tolerances.
- Interface with suppliers (via phone and/or e‑mail) to resolve inspection findings.
- Observe all applicable safety requirements and report immediately any unsafe practices or conditions.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
- 5+ years programming experience with CALYPSO or similar CAD‑based CMM software.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, fixtures, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and/or customers.
- Work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Plan time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
Equivalent of four years of high school (required).
Computer SkillsMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Physical Activities- Continually required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs.; stand.
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.; push or pull; walk.
- Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.; sit; ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps; turn wrenches, valves, or handles; bend or twist; use upper extremities; reach above shoulders; reach to full extension.
- Specific vision abilities include regular peripheral viewing; viewing length changes; close viewing with depth perception; occasional distance viewing.
- Specific hearing abilities include the need to perceive spoken voice clearly and need to hear warning signals up to 70 dB (with or without assistance).
- Specific speech abilities regularly required include comprehensible speech.
