Job Overview

A real estate agent assists clients in buying or selling properties, evaluating market values, advertising listings, negotiating transactions, and coordinating financing and paperwork.

• Buyer Representation: Identify client preferences, search for suitable properties, conduct site inspections, present comparative market analyses, and assist with offer negotiation.
• Seller Representation: Set competitive asking price based on comparable sales, advise on preparation and staging, market the property through listings and open houses, and guide the seller through offers and closing.
• Coordinate with lenders, inspectors, attorneys, and other professionals to ensure all documentation is accurate and binding.
• Explain contracts and terms to clients, answer questions, and present options for financing and concessions.
• Maintain client records and follow up until the transaction is finalized.

• Completion of required pre‑licensing coursework and passing the state exam.
• Ongoing continuing education as mandated by the licensing authority.
• Background check and verification of eligibility age requirements.
• License is valid only in the jurisdiction that issued it; agents may apply for additional state licenses if desired.
