Research Scientist, Clinical Research, Research Assistant/Associate
Job Summary
In Dr. Davies' Lab this person will mainly work on cancer clinical trials related to treatment de‑escalation. They will focus on recruitment across multi‑site studies, using established mixed methods approaches that will be taught ‘on the job’ to the successful candidate. The role includes developing other related clinical trials, advancing the mixed‑methods recruitment approach, and contributing to the science of de‑scalation with the team.

This position may require some work to be performed in‑person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non‑campus work location.
Key Job Responsibilities- Assists with writing and submitting grant applications and proposals to secure research funding
- Conduct literature reviews, prepare reports and materials, author or co‑author publications, and disseminate information to appropriate entities through various communication mediums
- Review and evaluate results
- Collect and analyze complex research data, conduct experiments and interviews, and document results according to established policies and procedures
- Develop and implement complex research projects, methodologies, procedures, and criteria
- Train individuals and groups on equipment operations, research protocols, and techniques within a specialized laboratory or research area
- Provide operational guidance on day‑to‑day activities of unit or program staff and student workers
This vacancy is a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
CompensationThe expected salary range for this position is $67,314 up to $100,000 for highly experienced candidates and actual pay within this range will depend on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications- 3-5 years of research or other relevant work experience
- Background in social sciences
- Facility with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with qualitative research analysis software
- Experience and/or current credentials to work within the research systems of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and experience with federally funded research
Master's Degree required.
