Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Dissemination and Implementation Frameworks and Outcomes Scientist II to join the Implementation IMPACT Lab (IMPlementation Science to Accelerate Community Translation) led by Dr. Shellie Ellis. The IMPACT Research Lab focuses on advancing precision medicine and improving evidence‑based care delivery in rural health settings through the integration of Implementation Science, Health Services Research, and community‑based approaches to address rural health disparities.
Responsibilities- Support dissemination and implementation science research activities led by the Lead Implementation Program Evaluation Scientist III and senior investigators, contributing to evaluation planning, data collection, analysis, and stakeholder engagement across federally funded and foundation‑sponsored projects focused on rural health, precision medicine, and digital mental health.
- Assist with implementation science and program evaluation activities while developing independence and expertise.
- Contribute to the success of the Dissemination and Implementation Program Evaluation of the THRIVE Digital Mental Health Initiative, evaluating dissemination and implementation outcomes, assessing implementation barriers of integrating evidence‑based mental health digital interventions into multiple rural settings, and testing optimization of implementation strategies, requiring rigorous and rapid evaluation of implementation processes, outcomes, and system‑level adoption.
- Select appropriate implementation frameworks and measures that align with evaluation design and plan; assess literature for validated measures; pilot test data collection systems and instruments with Statistician.
- Work with qualitative team to identify implementation frameworks for qualitative inquiry, build codebooks, define constructs for rapid data analysis.
- Collaborate with statistician and implementation strategy optimization team to develop dashboards mapping to implementation strategies and identifying optimization needs.
- Support ongoing research, including TEAMSPORT, an NCI‑funded project implementing pathologist‑initiated genomic testing in rural communities.
- Field consultation requests from the lab, advising on implementation theories, methods, and strategies; integrate and coordinate with other implementation science units across campus.
- Provide scientific leadership and mentorship to research team members, fostering methodological rigor and consistency across evaluation efforts.
- Ability to contribute to implementation science and program evaluation activities, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and sponsor requirements.
- Strong organizational skills, including managing multiple activities simultaneously, paying close attention to detail, and operating effectively in both in‑person and virtual environments.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to present research analysis and findings clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary partners and demonstrate professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior in all interactions.
- May require some work to be performed in‑person, onsite at a designated campus work location; some work may be performed remotely, at an off‑site, non‑campus work location.
- Position identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations; requires initial caregiver check and renewal every four years under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law.
- Prepares and/or presents research results for presentation to professional organizations or scholarly publications to help advance research.
- Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, and disseminates information to appropriate entities.
- May supervise the day‑to‑day activities of a research unit as needed.
- Attends and assists with the facilitation of scholarly events and presentations in support of continued professional development and the dissemination of research information.
