Responsibilities
- Develop project and technical strategy within area of expertise.
- Apply advanced scientific principles to solve analytical problems for drug discovery and development.
- Design and execute analytical studies to support drug discovery and platform development.
- Independently design and initiate development of analytical methods and improve existing ones.
- Serve as a project coordinator for ongoing and new analytical method development.
- Work independently and collaboratively to solve scientific/technical challenges.
- Develop and validate analytical methods to quantify and characterize drugs and impurities.
- Conduct sample analysis; analyze/interpret results; integrate findings to understand drug properties and synthetic/purification routes.
- Present research findings to cross‑functional teams.
- Identify, propose, and lead initiatives/improvements.
- Influence and support drug discovery/development directions with scientific findings.
- Train and mentor junior scientists.
- Other duties as assigned.
- PhD in analytical chemistry (or a close related field) with 2+ years relevant industry experience.
- Strong hands‑on LC‑MS and HPLC experience for protein/protein conjugate characterization and quantitation.
- Expertise in sample preparation, peptide mapping, MS/MS peptide sequencing, glycosylation, disulfide bond mapping, and post‑translational modifications analysis.
- In-depth understanding of protein and analytical chemistry.
- Familiar with routine mass spectrometer maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting/problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent data interpretation/integration; communication and presentation skills.
- Ability/willingness to learn cutting‑edge technologies; prioritize workload and adapt to fast changes.
- Open mind to learn new technology; experience with a wide range of analytical techniques.
- Hands‑on CE or MALS (plus).
Wisconsin pay range: $125,000 USD - $145,000 USD.
