The Associate Scientist I supports analytical testing for drug substance and drug product development (CMC Analytical Development), including routine laboratory testing, analytical method development/qualification, and release and stability testing for GLP toxicology studies and cGMP clinical trial materials.
Responsibilities- Follow cGMP guidelines, laboratory procedures, and applicable SOPs.
- Perform routine analytical testing to support batch release, stability studies, and development activities.
- Assist with analytical method development, qualification, and validation.
- Learn and perform analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV/Vis, LC/MS, Karl Fischer, and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for testing.
- Accurately document procedures/results in lab notebooks and electronic systems.
- Compile data, prepare certificates of analysis, and assist with stability reports.
- Analyze data with guidance from senior team members.
- Calibrate, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
- 0–2 years of laboratory experience (industry/academic/internship/co‑op).
- Basic understanding of analytical chemistry principles and lab techniques.
- Familiarity with analytical instrumentation (coursework or experience).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Candidates must have current, valid authorization to work in the country where this role is located.
- Experience in a cGMP or regulated lab environment.
- Hands‑on chromatography or other analytical instrumentation experience.
- Wisconsin pay range: $57,000–$68,000 USD.
