Job Summary:

The Wisconsin Evaluation Collaborative (WEC) conducts and supports program evaluations within education and community systems through partnerships with school districts, professional associations, state agencies and education-based community organizations. A Researcher I (Evaluator and Researcher) will provide support to evaluation projects within the WEC through a combination of tasks including data collection, data cleaning and analysis, data visualization, and dissemination of results through reporting and presentations in various formats.

The position will also assist with the development of methodologies and the interpretation of analysis results as well as the opportunity to assist with proposal development.

Key

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists in developing grant applications and proposals to secure research funding
  • Collects and analyzes basic research data, conducts experiments and interviews, and documents results according to established policies and procedures
  • Assists with the development of research methodologies and procedures
  • Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, and disseminates information to appropriate entities and assists with publications
  • Identifies concerns and recommends solutions to leadership
  • Trains individuals and groups on equipment operations, research protocols, and techniques within a specialized laboratory or research area

Compensation:

Minimum: $50,000

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications:
  • At least two years of experience working with educational data, including K-12 student and staffing data
  • At least two years of experience cleaning and analyzing large state-wide and school district-wide data sets, including Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction data
  • At least two years of experience working with public schools, districts, or state education organizations
  • At least two years of experience interpreting results from quantitative analysis
  • At least two years of experience with survey data
  • At least two years of experience using statistical software such as SAS or Stata
  • Strong writing and reporting skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Required to work on-site at the Educational Sciences Building (1025 W. Johnson Street, Madison, WI) three days per week as part of the regular work schedule, with the remaining two workdays eligible to be performed off-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of education systems and policy
  • Experience conducting qualitative data collection
  • Experience with evaluation planning
