Description The Morgridge Institute for Research, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin‑Madison, seeks a joint tenure track assistant professor to lead a vibrant metabolism‑focused research program. We are particularly interested in interdisciplinary and collaborative‑minded scientists passionate about mechanistic understanding of metabolism and metabolic regulation, its connections with core biological processes, and innovative approaches to study metabolism. This position will include a joint appointment as an investigator at the Morgridge Institute for Research and as faculty member in one of the potential home departments: the Departments of Chemical & Biological Engineering, Medical Microbiology & Immunology, and Neuroscience at UW‑Madison.

We welcome investigations of metabolism across diverse physiological and engineering contexts. Areas of interest across our participating departments include, but are not limited to:
- Chemical & Biological Engineering:
Metabolic engineering, chemical biological technologies in metabolism study, quantitative systems biology. - Medical Microbiology & Immunology:
Immunometabolism, host‑microbe metabolic crosstalk, microbial metabolism. - Neuroscience:
Neurometabolism, metabolism in the brain, and the metabolic basis of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders.
