Member Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide member service, maintain the checkout area, resolve member issues and concerns, promote Sam’s Club products and services, and provide guidance on self‑service technology.
• Process member purchases and assist with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types.
• Follow company safety standards, conduct safety sweeps, and follow proper procedures for handling merchandise. Report unsafe situations and correct/report unsafe conditions to facility management.
• Maintain entrance and exit areas; verify membership cards, assist with purchasing decisions, locate merchandise, zone the area, organize merchandise, and assist members with transporting items. Ensure a safe shopping environment.
• Review member receipts, secure assets, observe potential criminal activity, maintain documentation, execute emergency response procedures, and ensure compliance with security and safety practices.
• Assist in the training of Member Frontline Services associates on company processes and procedures, teach new technology and tool functionality, deliver program roll‑out training, and provide continuous learning opportunities.
• Ensure area of responsibility complies with policies, handle returns, zone the area, organize merchandise, and identify shrink and damages.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethics, use the Open Door Policy, and apply these in business processes.
• Complete assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and partners; identify priorities and deadlines; communicate progress; recommend improvements; and adapt to and learn from change.

• Retail experience operating front‑end equipment (e.g., cash register).
• Experience using mobile retail applications.

• Additional experience with retail operating systems.

Hourly wage range: $17.00 to $25.00. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
