Position Overview:

This role is responsible for ensuring the meat cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality meat and poultry products. Receives stock, cuts, grinds, wraps, weighs, prices, and merchandises meat department products to department specifications. May order and stock prepackaged deli items and frozen food products that fall under the meat department. Ensures proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness.

Perform duties that comply with local health code and follow proper safety procedures and standards. This position requires working weekends and holidays based on department staffing requirements.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Receive and fulfill all customer orders

Wrap, weigh, label and display all meat merchandise

Stock display case and rotate merchandise as requested

Assist customers with all inquiries and requests

Operate machinery by following proper department production and safety standards, as needed

Conducts inventories and cycle counts as required

Follows safe food handling and local health department standards.

Maintains a safe work environment for employees, vendors and customers.

Sustains a high level of product knowledge and product preparation work toward continuous quality improvement

Grind and trim meat upon customer’s request

Inspect and reassemble equipment for use and perform routine maintenance as assigned

Clean and sanitize work area, equipment and utensils in compliance with health code Demonstrate excellent customer service standards

Work toward continuous quality improvement

Ensures accurate pricing by placing the corresponding price and ingredient labels on each package

Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations Follow Guest Experience Guidelines May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Here’s what you’ll need:

High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents

Basic mathematical skills

Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products preferred

Detail Oriented Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
