Position Summary
This role is responsible for performing all phases of the store's cash office operations accurately and efficiently, ensuring the shift contributes positively to the best interests of the store. The associate will also complete all other duties as assigned in a timely manner.
Responsibilities- Observe strict confidentiality of all company records and financial information and safeguard against unauthorized access at all times.
- Support front‑end activities to ensure cashiers follow store policies when handling transactions, including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, , over‑rings, refunds, bottle returns, vendor coupons, gift cards, and lottery ticket sales.
- Follow all policies pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, pseudo‑ephedrine, etc.
- Accurately operate the cash register, display cost of customer purchase, make change, cash checks, and issue receipts.
- Accurately balance cash and media to ledger, ensuring cash is controlled and safely deposited.
- Implement all related security and cash drawer accounting procedures.
- Keep management informed of problems with pricing, cash registers, scales, or other cash office issues.
- Maintain records on cash controls for internal audits.
- Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines.
- Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations.
- Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
- May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Suggestive selling/knowledge of products.
- Detail oriented.
- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.).
- May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
- Work environment includes varied temperatures, exposure to outside weather conditions, and low to moderate noise levels.
- Travel requirements vary by assignment.
