Retail Team Leader

Job Summary

Retail Team Leader (Key Holder) – responsible for opening, closing, managing daily operations, and supervising sales associates at Gordon Food Service’s retail store.

Location:

406 Grand Canyon Drive, Madison, WI 53719.

Pay: $18+/hour starting wage (based on experience). The position offers a flexible full‑time schedule.

• Open and close the store.
• Complete daily store operations and tasks.
• Assist in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks and transferring stock to the store.
• Maintain merchandise with product rotation, proper food handling, and quality checks.
• Provide exceptional customer service, problem‑solving, and build sales.
• Handle cash: bank deposits, provide change for cashiers, set and count down registers.
• Help build and train the team, supervising associates in their duties.

• 1–2 years of retail experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and lift above shoulder height frequently.
• Flexible availability for a full‑time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work shifts at other stores if needed.
• Ability to safely operate power equipment such as slicing equipment, walk‑and‑lift, and forklifts where applicable.
• Minimum 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass pre‑employment checks, including a drug screen and criminal background check.
• Basic computer skills.

Store hours:
Monday–Saturday 7AM – 7PM, Sunday 9AM – 6PM.
