About the RoleWe’re hiring a Territory Manager to own and grow a Madisonarea portfolio serving the commercial construction industry. You’ll partner closely with Key Account Managers, Product Specialists, and Inside Sales to deliver equipment, services, and training to contractors and project teams. Expect to spend a significant portion of your week on the road and at construction sites
, building relationships, uncovering opportunities, and ensuring a seamless customer experience from quote to delivery to service.
- Produce new business across the territory while expanding wallet share with existing accounts.
- Conduct regular in-person sales calls, site visits, and trainings (onsite and phone-based when appropriate).
- Serve as a technical advisor to customers and internal teams; maintain current knowledge of all company products and services.
- Ensure timely resolution of product or service issues in collaboration with Inside Sales, Rental, Service, and Credit.
- Complete call logs, notes, CRM updates, sales/expense reports, and all required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Ensure every order contains complete stock/serial numbers; reverify each deal for accuracy; secure all required signatures.
- Obtain down payments and coordinate financing as needed.
- Provide accurate proposals within customer credit limits; notify Credit Manager when quotes exceed limits.
- Proactively alert management of deals > $5,000 and keep customers informed on delivery, setup, and training schedules.
- Stay current on all leads via calls, emails, and visits; expand and maintain a robust lead database (CRM).
- Share weekly plans or provide calendar access to the VP, Sales & Marketing.
- Maintain the company vehicle per manufacturer guidelines; follow all procedures in the event of an accident (including immediate drug testing and filing a police report).
- Represent the company at local trade shows and networking events.
- Model ethical, responsible business practices and maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance (hooded sweatshirts only for field demos, dangerously cold temps, or occasional Fridays).
- 2+ years in inside sales, outside sales, or project management within commercial construction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn internal systems (CRM/ERP).
- Solid business math skills (write contracts, calculate margins/fees).
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities; able to juggle multiple opportunities and deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and comfort working frequently in the field and on active jobsites.
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Family-owned with a hightenure sales team and no micromanaging – run your territory like it’s your own business.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $/yr.
