PurposeDemonstrates in-depth knowledge and skills to represent the company to complex customers, understand their needs, and identify solutions. Acts as a leader in training and developing less experienced sales staff and may act as Sales Manager in their absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Represent the company during the sales process by collecting data on customer needs and design specifications, acting as liaison among internal technical staff and customers, and developing sales proposals.
- Develop sales contracts for residential, multi‑family and commercial projects, translating client engineer or architect requirements to technical staff.
- Troubleshoot field issues that are difficult or complex.
- Plan and conduct sales presentations for current and prospective customers, designing professional demonstrations of products and services.
- Research, identify and solicit new customers; generate sales opportunities through market analysis and effective product demonstrations.
- Continuously update customers on products and services, explaining how they meet current or future requirements.
- Lead meetings, train and develop less experienced sales staff, and serve as Sales Manager’s proxy when absent.
- May train less experienced Outside Sales Representatives.
- Prepare recurring and special reports, forms or other documentation for management as required.
- Enhance knowledge of sales techniques and industry by attending company‑sponsored training; may present at training sessions.
- Plan and pace own work to meet daily, weekly, project or team productivity goals.
- Observe all safety procedures and attend safety meetings; recommend improvements to safety practices.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field plus two (2) years of prior sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- In-depth understanding of sales policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and customer information.
- Demonstrate professionalism, diplomacy, and tact.
- High‑effectiveness selling skills.
- Ability to achieve aggressive sales goals.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to explain complex subjects clearly.
- Prioritize work, manage time efficiently, and work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of customer organizations.
- Provide training and development to less experienced Outside Sales Representatives.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations.
- Must lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
- Work on both company and customer sites, including driving to customer locations.
