What you will do
- Promote and sell Johnson Controls Security services and technology within an assigned territory.
- Build and maintain relationships, close new business, and ensure customer retention.
- Serve as the Johnson Controls Security brand steward, telling the brand story and positioning the company as a leading electronic security provider.
- Secure profitable sales and upgrades to existing commercial customers while improving satisfaction through post‑installation follow‑ups.
- Adhere to Johnson Controls Security policies, procedures, products, programs and services.
- Create new market share by selling products and services to new local commercial customers.
- Sell additional products and services to existing accounts and identify new sales opportunities.
- Renew existing customer agreements and manage resale opportunities within an assigned territory.
- Identify prospects using creative lead‑generating techniques and maintain productive relationships with existing customers.
- Develop and execute call plans and customer follow‑up strategies, consistently applying time and territory management techniques.
- Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of the complete product line and customers’ issues and needs through training and research.
- Obtain referrals and collaborate with centers of influence.
- Process work orders and complete all paperwork in accordance with approved procedures.
- Conduct post‑installation follow‑up by contacting customers to confirm commitments were met and affirm satisfaction.
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, able to present to senior level executives.
- Full‑time schedule with availability for local travel.
- College degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a successful commercial sales representative in the security, IT or other technology sales industry, with a consistent record of meeting and exceeding quota.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage territory effectively.
- Hirng Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000, based on education, experience, skills and market data.
