Overview

The Landscape Business Developer Client Service Representative (CSR) will cultivate new sales, work with current clients and explore referrals and leads on future opportunities including estimating and site analysis.

The Landscape Business Developer CSR manages projects from paperwork to production and is essential to our success. The CSR makes the initial contact with the client, prepares and presents the proposal documents, completes the sales, interfaces with production and accounting personnel and interfaces with subcontractors and vendors as required throughout the business life cycle. The primary objective is to develop new business for the company and on-going account management with our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Attend client and professional association meetings such as homeowners associations (HOA), boards of directors (BOD), Building Owners and Managers Associations.
  • Make initial contact with clients and take all required measurements.
  • Prepare all proposals/bids and review all bids with Director of Sales/owner for accuracy and marketability.
  • Make effective presentations and present all proposals/documents to clients and close the sale.
  • Coordinate job specifics with accounting and production personnel.
  • Interface with clients and ensure that all client concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure that job cost reports are properly analyzed and disseminated.
  • Maintain and update CRM software on a daily basis re: opportunities, leads, activities, points of contact, etc.
  • Thoroughly understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and achievement of company and branch annual budget goals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the company’s new business development plan, training goals and marketing plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have prior sales experience and a two- or four-year degree in Horticulture (or related field).
  • Three years of experience in the green industry including work in sales and customer service is preferred.
  • Possess technical skills such as product knowledge, services, plant materials, production/culture, diseases/insects, basic sales, and understanding of financial statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient in or able to learn customer relationship management (CRM) and estimating software.
  • Ability to make effective presentations to potential clients.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Possess excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates integrity, accountability and efficient stewardship of company resources in a manner consistent with David J. Frank Landscape Contracting Inc (DJFLCI) policies.
  • High-energy with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to understand the big picture and align priorities with broader goals; measure outcomes, evaluate alternatives and see connections within complex issues.
  • Ability to connect with peers, subordinates, and customers; actively listen; clearly and effectively share information; adapt communication to diverse audiences.
  • Possess and maintain a valid, regular driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).
