About DNASTAR

DNASTAR is a leading provider of innovative bioinformatics software for the life sciences industry. For over 40 years, our flagship Lasergene suite has powered scientific breakthroughs across genomics, proteomics, and molecular biology. We are looking for a motivated entry‑level Business Development Representative to join our team on‑site. This role is perfect for a recent graduate with a biology background who wants to bridge the gap between cutting‑edge science and commercial impact.

The Role

As a Business Development Representative, you will be the first point of contact for many researchers and lab managers discovering DNASTAR solutions. You’ll use your scientific background to speak the language of biologists, bioinformaticians, and R&D leaders—uncovering their workflow challenges and demonstrating how DNASTAR software can accelerate their research.

This is an entry‑level role with significant growth potential. You will receive direct mentorship, build foundational business and sales skills, and gain exposure to how life science software companies operate.

Research and identify high‑potential academic labs, biotech companies, and pharma R&D teams that could benefit from DNASTAR’s software suite.
  • Scientific Communication:
Craft compelling outbound campaigns and engage in consultative conversations with scientists, translating complex scientific concepts to show the value of our tools.
  • Market Intelligence:
Maintain accurate records in our CRM, track pipeline activity, and feed marketplace insights back to the product and marketing teams.
  • On‑site Engagement:
Work from our office to collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and participate in strategy discussions.
What You’ll Bring Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular Biology, genetics, bioinformatics, or a related life sciences field.
  • (Master’s degree is a plus but not required for this entry‑level role).
Experience
  • 0–2 years of professional experience. Internships, research assistant positions, or customer‑facing roles in a scientific setting are a plus.
Skills & Attributes
  • Scientific Curiosity:
Strong interest in genomics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. You are eager to learn the technical aspects of our software.
  • Communication

    Skills:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can clearly explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Hunger to Learn:
Intellectual curiosity about the intersection of science, technology, and business. You are a self‑starter with a proactive attitude.
  • Team Player:
Ability to work effectively with co‑workers, managers, and clients in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. You enjoy accomplishing something important as a team member.
Why Join DNASTAR
  • Make an impact:
Help scientists accelerate discoveries in drug development, disease research, and personalized medicine.
