Mass Spectrometry Operator

We are seeking a skilled Mass Spectrometry Operator to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on operating and maintaining LC-MS instrumentation, providing training to new chemists, and managing system scheduling. It offers room for growth and the opportunity to work within a large bioanalytical team.

• Start batches on LC-MS with a focus on instrumentation.
• Assist in training new chemists on instrument use.
• Manage system scheduling for over 50 Mass Spectrometers.
• Supervise chemists as they learn to run instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Independently operate LC-MS instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate lab records and document work.
• Coordinate with a team of 60 chemists.
• Communicate with Study Directors to implement corrective actions.
• Identify and address technical issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
• 2+ years of experience in a chemistry lab.
• 1-2 years of experience running LC-MS instruments independently.
• Experience in troubleshooting instrumentation.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Experience in HPLC, mass spectrometry, metrology, training development, and calibration.
• A proactive attitude and mindset focused on team success.

The position is based in a lab setting within the Bioanalytical team, which consists of approximately 100 employees, predominantly chemists. The environment is highly collaborative, with an emphasis on teamwork and communication. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Madison, WI.
