Job Summary:
The Bailey Lab is looking for a research specialist to work on novel mechanisms of viral persistence. This will involve learning techniques in virology and immunology. Competitive applicants will have a track record of working with rodent models.
  • This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
  • Candidates who demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities will be given first consideration:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials
  • Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results
  • Performs literature reviews and writes reports
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences

Compensation:
The starting salary for the position is $44,543 annually; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be comfortable handling live rodents and performing experimental procedures on rodents
  • Must have steady hands
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Must be open minded to learning new skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous rodent handling experience
  • Prior laboratory experience
Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred; focus in biomedical fields preferred.
