Compensation: Compensation based on experience. Eligible for $2.50/hr night shift differential and $2/hr weekend differential.

The Security Officer is responsible for providing an environment of safety and ensuring visitors receive the best service. This position has a range of duties such as conducting patrols, investigating security concerns, and providing exceptional customer assistance. The Security Officer acts to ensure compliance with corporate and hospital policies, operates video systems, manages crisis situations, and participates in emergency and disaster events.

This position is located at the Meriter Hospital campus but may provide service at other company locations.

There is an established career ladder for this role with the potential to advance to a Security Officer II after one year of experience with a pay bump. If you have a year or more of prior security experience when applying, we will hire you at a Level II!

• Perform patrols and monitor premises to identify security risks.
• Investigate security concerns and respond to incidents.
• Provide exceptional customer assistance to visitors and staff.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and hospital policies.
• Operate video surveillance systems and other security technologies.
• Manage crisis situations and participate in emergency and disaster events.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Required:
• High School Diploma or GED
• A valid WI driver’s license in good standing to obtain and maintain employer driving approval. (No more than 3 driving violations in the last 3 years)
• Understanding of State of Wisconsin Statutes pertaining to criminal law.
• Ability to work effectively with computer systems, including security technologies and applications.
• Must complete HAZMAT, FEMA, and other trainings, as identified, within 6 months of hire or as determined by supervisor.
• Ability to perform all duties necessary.

• Preferred:
• Associates Degree or 60 college credits in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or related field is preferred.
