IT Specialist; Infosec-Title Security Clearance

Position: IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)-Title 5 with Security Clearance
Duties
* manages the comsec account for the wing/base and subordinate units.
* report deviations from established comsec and security guidelines to higher headquarters. Assure semi-annual functional reviews of all comsec users' accounts are performed.
* serves as the base computer security (compusec) manager.
* serves as the central focal point for all task orders (taskords) and system vulnerability alerts. Ensures all requests for information (rfis) and taskords are distributed to appropriate work centers and reports progress of compliance to leadership and higher headquarters.

* must be able to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance.

* this position conducts information assurance functions. The incumbent shall comply with the requirements of the certification program and will be required to obtain and maintain certification. This position is designated as essential personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

Qualifications general experience : experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

Specialized experience : to qualify for the gs-2210-11, you must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Candidate has superior experience managing a program effectively and efficiently such as communication security (comsec), tempest and base computer security (compusec). Must have the ability to run a program that will be audited at the national level. Candidate can summarize, interpret and audit significant data collected.

Experience of program management of a higher visibility of a large wing/company wide program. Experience in managing and training the function of the work to be performed. Experience requires adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. A candidate has excellent organizational and communication skills. Education substitution of education for specialized experience - at the gs-11 level, a ph.d. Or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
