Security Installer

Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking a skilled security systems installer to join our team. The role involves installing, wiring, and programming integrated security systems—including access control, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems—for a diverse range of clients.

• Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in client locations in accordance with national electrical code, company, and customer guidelines.
• Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complex installation issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, software programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Perform system checks to confirm proper operation.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize work with close attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Analyze information and work independently to complete installation jobs.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
• Use hand and power tools to mount and secure equipment, feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls, and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
• Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
• Conduct end‑user training.
• Isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Significant background (3+ years) in Digital & Analog Camera Systems.
• Significant background (3+ years) in Access Control Systems.
• Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
• Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
• Advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
• Ability to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
• Computer literate; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Preferred:
  Associate Degree or 2‑year technical school program graduate.
• Preferred:
  Industry‑recognized apprentice training program.
• Preferred specialized training/certification in Access Control, CCTV‑Analog, CCTV‑IP, or Visitor Management.
• Additional experience in MCSE, CCNA, Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems, and Security Gate Operators is a plus.

• Hiring salary range: $26.06 – $39.04 per hour; salary determined by experience, skills, and market data.
