Job SummaryWe are a long‑established, family‑owned construction equipment organization in Wisconsin seeking a shop‑based Heavy Equipment Technician. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction equipment in a safe, organized shop environment. Candidates must own professional‑grade tools and possess strong mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment in a shop setting.
- Perform mechanical, hydraulic, diesel engine, and electrical repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance and scheduled service inspections.
- Use diagnostic software, service manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
- Work closely with service leadership and parts teams to complete repairs efficiently.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Participate in training to stay current with equipment technology.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
- Experience working with diesel‑powered equipment, hydraulics, or industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Comfort using computers and diagnostic tools.
- Ownership of professional‑grade tools and toolbox.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet physical job requirements.
- Heavy construction equipment experience is a plus but not required for a mechanically strong candidate.
