JOB SUMMARY
The Concrete Finisher Tier 2 serves as a highly skilled finisher responsible for executing advanced finishing work and leading portions of concrete placement and finishing operations. This role applies deep knowledge of concrete behavior, timing, and techniques to ensure high-quality results while supporting crew coordination, mentoring less experienced team members, and contributing to efficient and safe project execution in alignment with Daniels Construction standards.
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform advanced concrete finishing techniques across a variety of applications, ensuring high-quality surface results
- Lead portions of pours and finishing operations, coordinating crew activities to maintain timing and workflow
- Assist with layout, forming, and sequencing decisions to support efficient execution of work
- Monitor concrete conditions (set time, weather impact, curing) and adjust finishing approach as needed
- Train and mentor apprentices and Tier 1 finishers, supporting skill development and crew performance
- Ensure quality control during placement and finishing, identifying and troubleshooting issues in real time
- Safely use, maintain, and oversee tools and equipment in accordance with company standards
- Maintain organized work areas and reinforce safety practices throughout all phases of work
- Willingness to help in other construction trade areas when needed
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma and/or GED, required
- 6+ Years of experience in concrete/construction, required
- Proven ability to work independently
- Exposure to commercial or residential construction environments, preferred
- Expert-level finishing skills
- Strong understanding of concrete placement, timing, and curing
- Ability to read and interpret plans
- Leadership and mentoring capability
- Safe use of hand and power tools
- Understanding of jobsite safety practices
- Strong willingness to learn and improve
- Reliable Transportation, required
- Willingness to travel within 90 miles of Madison/Dane County (surrounding areas may be requested)
