Job Description
Join the Army National Guard as a Utilities Equipment Repairer and help keep operations running smoothly on and off the battlefield.
Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and repair utilities equipment and special-purpose support systems. You will maintain, test, and repair electric motors, inspect and repair electrical equipment and instruments, replace worn gaskets, and seal watertight electrical equipment. You will also maintain and repair gasoline engine systems, air‑conditioner electrical systems, and portable heater fuel/electrical systems.
Responsibilities- Inspect and repair air‑conditioner electrical systems.
- Inspect and repair air‑conditioner vapor systems.
- Inspect and repair refrigeration unit electrical systems.
- Inspect and repair portable heater fuel/electrical systems.
- Inspect and recharge fire extinguisher systems and inspect fire extinguisher valves.
Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including classroom instruction and field practice in repairing electrical products.

- Most non‑prior service candidates may earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend.
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
- Must meet citizenship requirements.
