This position is responsible for performance of a variety of tasks of a heavy physical nature involved in, and incidental to, general building services and preventative maintenance activities. Duties include, but are not limited to general facilities maintenance, various cleaning duties, ornamental gardening, park planning and maintenance, seasonal care of planting beds, cultivating ornamental plants, and special event setup and takedown.

Salary Information
The Facility Repair Worker
-Advanced is in schedule-range (03-12) with an hourly rate between $20.00 and $23.69. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).
Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.
Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants may have any of the following:
* Training and/or experience performing minor building repairs (e.g. basic cabinetry, repairing doors and hardware, preventative facility maintenance, minor plumbing repair, etc.)
* General landscape experience (e.g. maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, plant care, etc.)
* Operating grounds care and snow removal equipment (e.g. zero turn mowers, tractors, skid/end loaders, tillers, trimmers, snow blowers, boom/scissor lifts, snow plows, truck salt spreaders, etc.)
* Conducting irrigation system audits and performing basic irrigation repairs
